Getting Down to Business

So I have finally bought my camera, and it feels so good to say that it was definitely well-worked for. I feel so free to take any photos at any time of day. It is absolutely amazing :)

For the past few days I have been working on test shots, and setting up photo shoots to get BGP going. Its a small boat in a huge ocean, but I have faith. Only you can make this dream come alive, so feel free to share my blog and facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/B-Gamble-Photography/208294219206600 ) with any and all of your friends! Every bit of recognition helps. :)

If you would like to set up a shoot, or more information about what I do, please feel free to contact me via facebook, or email gamblebridgette@yahoo.com.

Please enjoy the random arrangement of my samples :) And remember to visit my Facebook page, and of course, have a good day!

New Camera? Oh baby!

So hopefully within the next month enough money will be raised between my awesome boyfriend and myself with our new jobs, that we will be able to buy my new camera. It's going to take some hard work, but in the end, isn't that what pays off the most? Some kids get allowance from their parents, and others have various other family members that supply  them with the things they want.

But this camera is something I know I am going to hold dear to me, because it is something I will have worked hard for. Of course, Rob intends on helping me, but the point of the matter is, I'm going to be paying for the accessories, repairs, lenses, etc. all by myself and with my own hard-earned money. Not a nice little hunk of change handed to me by my parents. I am truly excited :)

On that note, I plan on scheduling a LOT more sessions :) I need to keep my head in the game, or I'm going to lose focus. You can't grasp a dream if you're too lazy to reach for it. I'm so close to that new camera I can almost touch it. <3

Jumping Right In

Lately I've been worrying about this whole photography business thing, and what its going to take to make things work. To be honest, I'm quite terrified to get started, so I've been stuck in the "creative" stage. But today I did a photo shoot with a very adorable couple and realized that if I didn't put myself out there, it wouldn't have happened at all.

Then, as I was sitting around on Facebook, someone asked me if I would be willing to do a shoot for their brother. We discussed the occasion and some of the circumstances, and pretty soon they were asking what I charged! I've never been asked this question before, except once but I wasn't able to take the job. So you could imagine my happiness. Of course, I had to do some research on what other people are charging, and think about a fair yet fulfilling price range for my own business.

Needless to say, I believe I am making some serious progress, whether the person takes the offer or not. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that today's lessons learned would have to be, 1. good things come to those who wait, 2. you should always be doing something productive while you wait, and 3. Sometimes looking before you leap takes the thrill out of the fall. Jumping right in may have been the best idea I've ever had. :)

Photo shoot with Rob

I really enjoyed this photo shoot with my good friend Rob Vazquez. It was his first time as a model, and my firsttime waking up so early to beat the sunrise.

In these, I had a little bit of fun with trying to get the shots to have a more sci-fi, comic book air to them. I am pretty pleased with them. :) Especially the darkness of his tattoos. They really accentuate the darkness in the water and sky.

I also had a bit of fun with taking some sea/sky scape shots when the light was right :)
These are the most exciting for me.

Free Photo shoot?

People have been asking me lately if I can set up FREE appointments for a photo shoot, because they'd really like to have a nice family photo, or a portrait made of themselves and friends. As an amateur photographer, I don't think there could be a better opportunity. I have actually been doing free shoots for a while now, but I figured I should get the word out there in order to get a wider variety of subjects and of course, a more professional looking portfolio. So please, if you are interested in getting a portrait of your family, yourself and some friends, or even just yourself, don't hesitate to ask. I would be more than happy to take photos for FREE.(But gratuities are accepted too ;] For those that enjoy making a young photographer even more happy) I work in Black&White AND Color.
Here are a few B&W samples of the kind of work I do :)
